We're thrilled to announce that First Baptist Church will be the official home for Cover The City Project, and during the months of October and November, we'll be one the official collection points for this wonderful ministry to the city of High Point. In addition, project founder Amanda Anderson will have an office in our lobby area to handle all of the phone calls and details that surround such a big endeavor. "We are so blessed with First Baptist Church giving us this wonderful opportunity and for sharing their space with us" said Amanda Anderson. What is Cover The City? Cover the City Project was started in 2013 by Amanda Anderson. Throughout her time as a volunteer at Open Door Ministries it was brought to her attention that several people needed some type of warmth throughout the winter months in the shelter and even outside of the shelters. CTC is an annual blanket drive held every November to help shelters all over with the need of blankets. A blanket is something so small and you think everyone has one but most of the time they don't. This project was a way she found could help those in need during the coldest times of the year. CTC has grown from just a High Point, NC drive to several cities and states. We strive to help other non-profit organizations with the smallest needs in the greatest way.
Guests are always welcome to our services and special events!
