We believe as a church it is more important than ever to connect to our surrounding community. One way for us to do this is to partner with established community organizations that seek to make a difference in our local communities and the world. The following are organizations that First Baptist supports either by working alongside with, hosting their meetings and events, or by giving.
Vietnamese Baptist Church
Hội-Thánh Báp-Tít High-Point
For over twenty-five years 405 N Main St has been the home of The Vietnamese Mission. As of February 2016 the Vietnamese Mission had fulfilled their dream of owning and worshiping at their own facility located in Jamestown. This partnership has been a mutual blessing that we have both benefited and flourished from for many, many years. But, this isn't goodbye! The Vietnamese Mission and First Baptist continue to stay in contact and come together to serve our communities. As we always have we will continue to minister together. Together VBC and FBC we are family.
We are proud to be the the official home of the Cover the City Project. Cover the City Project was started in 2013 by Amanda Anderson. Throughout her time as a volunteer at Open Door Ministries it was brought to her attention that several people needed some type of warmth throughout the winter months in the shelter and even outside of the shelters. CTC is an annual blanket drive held every November to help shelters all over with the need of blankets. A blanket is something so small and you think everyone has one but most of the time they don't. This project was a way she found could help those in need during the coldest times of the year. CTC has grown from just a High Point, NC drive to several cities and states. We strive to help other non-profit organizations with the smallest needs in the greatest way.
Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) of High Point
In the summer of 2015 we began a partnership with the YWCA of High Point. At the time the YWCA was under heavy construction which limited their summer children's camp. After being contacted and made aware of their needs we were glad to open our facilities for their use. We also had the privilege of their campers coming to our VBS which was a blast.
We are looking forward to our continued partnership with the YWCA of High Point. As a Cooperative Baptist Church we stand behind the YWCA's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
