Joel joined the staff in March of 2015. Recently, he served at FBC Orangeburg, S.C. as an associate minister and director of their family life center campus. Joel graduated from the University of S.C. with a Bachelor of Arts, and holds a Master of Arts in Religion from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary at Lenoir-Rhyne University, as well as a doctorate from North Greenville University. He loves bowties and spending time with his family, riding bikes and swimming. Together Joel & Jennifer have two boys, Jackson and Jance.
Bruce has been on staff since 1981, receiving multiple recognitions during his tenure. Sensing God’s call to music ministry as a teenager, he received degrees from Mars Hill College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bruce also plans the trips and activities for the church’s Radiant Club. He has a wife, Sally and one son, Joshua. Bruce & Sally are blessed with two grandchildren. A Tarheel native, Bruce enjoys the scenic beauty of the NC mountains, riding trains, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and reading.
Michael joined the staff in June 2013, and became ordained in 2014. Before his call to High Point, Michael served as the Interim Youth Minister at FBC Lincolnton, NC. Michael actively develops sustainable discipleship ministry with students and creates media for First Baptist. He received his B.A. in Religious Thought and Philosophy from Gardner-Webb University, where he met his wife, Courtney. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and playing his guitar. He often likes to incorporate his hobbies, especially guitar, into his ministry.
Jennifer joined the staff in May of 2016. Jennifer loves helping children and families grow in their faith and teaching them about the love of Jesus. Jennifer has previously served in children and family ministries at First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, S.C. and Central United Methodist in Asheboro, N.C. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina Honors College. Together, Jennifer and Joel have two sons, Jackson and Jance. Her favorite things to do are spend time with her family and travel.
