NEW! | A Simple Gesture
A Simple Gesture has begun serving the High Point area! A Simple Gesture is a door-to-door food collection organization based in Greensboro that will help provide a steady supply of food to the most vulnerable within our communities.
It is estimated that for every 300 people who participate in the area, one ton of food will be collected each month!
How it Works:
- Sign up to participate to get your green bag from the church. To sign up or for more questions please contact our Missions Chairman, Lisa Powell by email or by phone at 336-908-3427 or visit A Simple Gesture online.
- Once signed-up just purchase one non-perishable food item a week and store it in the green bag (each bag has a suggested most needed items list, along with the scheduled pick-up dates).
- On the designated pick-up day (one Saturday every other month) leave the bag on your front porch. A volunteer will pick up the bag leave another bag in its place and deliver the filled bags to the food pantries listed below. (Volunteer Drivers are also needed!, be sure to ask upon sign up).

Every Wednesday a group meets in the Library at FBC to make prayer shawls to give to the hospitalized, sick, and to the families that have lost a loved one. This is a time of fellowship and prayer.
John's Totes (Monday's at 9:00 am)
On Monday's at 9 am a group meets at FBC in the sewing machine room to make tote bags for patients that are being discharged from High Point Regional Hospital. Patients receive a bag with an encouraging note to assist in their discharge. Don't know where the sewing machine room is? Ask the receptionist they will be glad to assist you.
Operation Christmas Child
We collect for Operation Christmas Child all year long! Please click the link to find what you can give: OCC Acceptable Items. OCC drop boxes are available in the lobby located underneath the TV on the left hand side when entering in the main entrance underneath the portico.
Angel Tree is a ministry of Prison Fellowship that assists incarcerated parents in giving a Christmas gift to their child in their name. This is done by volunteer sponsors that will pick an "angel" ornament on the Christmas tree in the FBC lobby. The gift will be delivered to the correct home with a note on the outside from the child's parent to the child. This program is only during the Christmas season starting around November and going up until a week or two before Christmas. For interest in helping contact Martha Lancaster.
