Our Ministries

Our Adult Bible Study is a time of fellowship, prayer, and spiritual study. All adults from young to seniors are welcomed.

On Wednesday evenings following dinner, we gather together to fellowship and pray for needs among our congregation. We also offer an interactive Bible study and discussion about the Holy Scriptures. At times we will study current Christian authors, and work on a craft or mission project. We invite you to join us for fellowship, and a time where we can grow closer in our walk with the Lord.  Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to be a community and, to be God's church in High Point!

At FBC it is our desire to help students feel empowered to follow and serve God in a way that is real and practical to them in today's world. Students, welcome!

We offer many things for students at First Baptist. From regular Wednesday evening activities, to offsite fellowship gatherings, retreats, day trips, mission trips, local serving opportunities, participation in Sunday's services and more!

At FBC we believe it is important to equip our student's to be leaders in tomorrow's church.

On Wednesday evenings we gather in the student center for fellowship and worship with our student ministry. During our fellowship time students are free to socialize, play video games, foosball, pool, ping pong, carpet ball, or shoot some hoops on our mini basketball goal. Worship begins at 6:45 pm lead by students at drums and vocals along with our Minister of Students at guitar & vocals. Our worship style is contemporary and utilizes music from many of today's christian artists. Our worship also includes an interactive message/bible study.

Every month we have an offsite fellowship gathering at one of our Student's houses or church members that have volunteered to host. For Student Fellowship's we come together for a few hours on a Sunday evening for food, games, and entertainment! This is a great way for us to build community as we seek to follow and serve God.

Every year we offer a fall, summer, and winter retreat opportunity along with day trips, local serving opportunities, and mission trips as planned.

At First Baptist Church we love children! We believe that children's ministry is of the upmost importance. We invite you to come see!

We want every child to know that Jesus loves him or her, and we want to help them grow in their faith for the rest of their lives. At First Baptist, children are active participants in worship. Opportunities to participate in worship include greeting, serving as an acolyte, singing in the children’s choir, speaking, praying, reading scripture, leading responsive readings, taking part in a litany, receiving the offering, sharing, musical, dance or dramatic gifts.

At First Baptist we put into practice what Jesus taught in Mark 10:14-15. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.." We believe that children should be included in our worship services. One way that we help children learn and get more out of their worship experience is by offering a Worship Bag. These bags include a clipboard and notes where children can write or draw their observations of what they see and hear during worship. The bags also include quiet activities to inspire creativity. A sweet treat is also included! Children  benefit greatly from worshipping with their church family, and we hope our Worship Bags are a fun addition a worship experience that will make each child feel welcomed and loved.

Families are always welcomed to our Wednesday Night Family Night Suppers. During the school year a music and missions program is offered after our meal. Family outings, camps and other opportunities for fellowship are scheduled throughout the year, including Vacation Bible School, City Lake Park Picnics, Blessing of the Backpacks and our Fall Family Festival.

The Radiant Club is a ministry of fellowship for adults and their friends. Events range from lunch meetings to week long trips. Join us!

The Radiant Club is a ministry of fellowship for adults and their friends. There is a lunch meeting on the second Tuesday of the month, September through June. Following a catered meal, they enjoy a variety of programs ranging from radio and TV personalities to entertainment, inspirational speakers and presentations on health care issues. There is always a bingo game in January and an annual tomato plant give-away in May!

The group has the opportunity to enjoy a monthly day trip to area attractions, plays, historical sights and museums within a day’s drive.

Twice annually they enjoy overnight trips to the beach, mountains, and other locations such as New York City, Biltmore House, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Charleston, Savannah and Christmas shows at Myrtle Beach. Everyone, regardless of age, is invited to enjoy these opportunities for travel and fellowship with Christian friends.

First Baptist's Music Ministry ages range from preschool to adult choir. Their are opportunities for children's choir, adult choir, handbells and more!

The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church is an integral part of the church’s goal to live the Gospel everyday and everywhere as we involve believers in service and ministry. Music used in worship is neither an optional extra nor merely spiritual entertainment. It is an essential part of worship and, therefore, must have integrity and quality appropriate to communicate the message of God and his Son, Jesus Christ. There is a long tradition of musical excellence at First Baptist Church.

We offer singing choirs, handbell choirs and other musical opportunities for preschool children to adults. The First Baptist  Music Ministry is a dynamic, vibrant place to develop and share your musical gifts as a leader in our corporate worship.

There are many things for our Senior Adults to do at FBC. Activities range from Radiant Club to prayer shawls and more!

First Baptist has many activities for Senior Adults. Activities such as a weekly prayer shawl ministry, as well as John's Totes ministry, and even our Radiant Club.

Our prayer shawl ministry meets every Wednesday at 12:00 pm in the library on the second floor. If you would like to join we would love to have you as our guest!

John's Totes is a ministry started by John in efforts to share the love of God with many of High Point Regional's hospital patients. The bags or totes that are created at the church are given to discharged patients with a hand written note so they may know someone cares. The totes help discharged patients pack their belongings so they can make the most swift and efficient discharge as possible. John's totes meets in the old dinning room on the first floor every Monday at 9:30 am. You are welcomed to be our guest!

There are also many happenings with our Radiant Club Ministry. Most of our Radiant Club members are of the senior adult age but it is not exclusively seniors. If you want to know more about Radiant Club please go to ministries and select Radiant Club.
